If you’re naturally thin-lipped, it is possible to overline your lips without looking ridiculous, you just have to know the right way to go about (or around) it. After all, lip liner was invented for a reason and with the correct application overlining has the potential to leave even the thinnest of lips looking naturally full. But how do you actually do it?
Enter: makeup artist Lisa Eldridge and her liner application theory.
In a recent YouTube video, Lisa broke down the best way to overline your lips. Explaining that the key to achieving a naturally plumper looking pout (minus injectables) is all down to application.
Lisa first exfoliates her lips using the KIKO Scrub and Peel wipes to create a smooth and plump surface. She then works a thin layer of La Mer The Lip Balm into her lips to hydrate, before blotting off any excess. Following this, she applies a light layer of Lancome’s L’ Absolu Rouge Lipstick to provide a better guide to where the lip pencil should go. Finally, Lisa applies MAC Cosmetics Lip Pencil, starting on the outer edges of the top lip and working up, allowing her to fill in the fuller shape. She then joins up the corners of the top and bottom lip, before finishing off by lining the bottom lip.
