Katie Holmes was not hiding a baby bump while walking around New York City in late April, despite false speculation from an unreliable tabloid. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. A rep for the actress tells us she’s not pregnant.
The latest issue of Woman’s Day notes that Holmes was spotted wearing a baggy sweater while taking a stroll in NYC, which was enough for the magazine to assume she’s carrying a child. The untrustworthy outlet first insists the actress’s choice of clothing “had onlookers wondering” if she’s pregnant, but the tabloid fails to mention the identity of these supposed “onlookers.”
From there, the publication starts theorizing about who might be the father of the actress’s supposed baby. The first guess is Jamie Foxx, who the actress casually dates. The second guess is former “Dawson’s Creek” co-star Joshua Jackson, who she’s not romantically involved with at all.
As Gossip Cop has repeatedly noted, Holmes and Foxx have a casual relationship and enjoy spend time together when their schedules allow it, but they’re not planning to get married or have children. In fact, People recently reported the two “don’t want to be labeled as a couple” and don’t consider themselves as such. Meanwhile, the actress’s rep recently told us she hadn’t seen Jackson in years prior to March’s “Dawson’s Creek” reunion. That rules out both of these “baby daddies.”
A pregnancy can be ruled out as well. The tabloid’s baseless article is purely speculative and doesn’t have a single source to back any of it up, but Holmes’ own spokesperson tells Gossip Cop on the record that she’s not pregnant. The idea that the actress might be carrying a child because she was wearing a baggy sweater is just ridiculous. In fact, the Daily Mail shared photos of Holmes at the Tribeca Film Festival around the same time, and noted she showed off a “toned torso” and “trim physique” on the red carpet.
Meanwhile, Holmes was photographed wearing a white T-shirt while walking around NYC this past Saturday. A white T-shirt isn’t what one wears when they want to hide a baby bump, which the actress clearly didn’t have. Regardless of Holmes’ appearance, her rep confirms she’s not expecting.
It’s also worth mentioning, Gossip Cop debunked similarly wrong speculation about Holmes having a baby bump while on a date night with Foxx less than two weeks ago. That wasn’t the case then and it’s no more accurate now.
